A slightly smaller Mess

Laurence: "Lets start with ten magazines worth. one hundred and twenty of these."

*the truck stops a few times, and turns many times, then stops, and the engine dies. Rain is pattering on the roof. The journey took over an hour.*

Chaptermaster: "Even under the whim of our Progenitors, we accomplished great things." *its very much said as a statement.*

"sounds good to me. I'll get to work on it."

she just waits, quietly

Warsmith: what 'great things' would these be?

Laurence: "Perfect. You can keep that case."

Leader: "Home again, home again."
*Jonan opens the door, and jumps out. Lyanna can taste the salt on the air*

Chaptermaster: "The purge of the eldar craftworld Vul'Tar, the defeat of three renegade imperial guard regiments simultaneously." *he pauses, hanging halfway through a sentence, implying, Need i go on?"*

"My thanks"

Warsmith: Victories in the name of the corpse emperor.

Laurence: "I do have another... habit. You might be interested in."

*ran lashes down into the open doorway, tyren steps up towards the doorway behind lyanna.*

Chaptermaster: "In the name of khorne."

"Habit?"

she exits the truck

Warsmith: were they at the time?

Laurence: "I tend to provide such people who assist me with a... steady pay, so to speak."

*She finds herself in a fairly elaborate noble estate, the gravel driveway she now stands on, winding up through sizeable gardens, with various distractions, as found in most of its kind, a small stream running through a mock heather moor, a wooden deck with an upraised fire box, a long path lined with flowers, shrubberies and rockeries. The house itself sits at the edge of the cliff. A grand place in the local style, whitewashed stone and thick walls to cool the home in the hot summer months. Lyanna can see the balcony, overhanging the cliff, high above the unquiet sea, half of it enclosed with great windows and glass sliding doors, and half left open to the elements. The balcony where Laurence bargained with her for the fate of a world.*

*Tyren drops out of the truck behind her, the gravel crunching beneath his titanic feet.*
Chaptermaster: "All blood spilt is in his name. Regardless who's, and who spills it."

"Is that so?"

Lyanna: was more awe inspiring the first time I saw it.

Warsmith: ah, that sort of 'devotion'. I see.

Chaptermaster: "Blood for the blood god, in the purest sense. But the blood of vengeance is sweetest."

Laurence: "In exchange for a few agreements."

Leader: "Its a fortress, it only looks pretty as camouflage."

Warsmith: so short sighted.... It matters not. You are still a useful weapon, it would seem.

"such as?"

Lyanna: I know. I've been here before.

Laurence: "You don't speak of this agreement to anyone else, and, you help out anyone who shows you one of these." *he takes out a small metal token, around the size of a 2 pence piece, an enamelled shield, split vertically into a black, and a white side, within the black, is a white teardrop.* "That's yours to keep, show anyone else you think works with me that, and they'll help you as they can."

Chaptermaster: "My sight will widen when the ultramarines are burned and forgotten."

Leader: *raises an eyebrow.* "Right then. Lets get you inside."

"... Guess there's no harm in it"

Warsmith: maybe.

she follows after them

Laurence: "Good man." *hands the man the token.* "I'll come back in, say a week?"

Chaptermaster: "Greater conquests await."

*They are led down towards what seems to be an underground garage area. the leader presses the intercom next to the garage door, and is challenged.*
Intercom: "Blackjack."
Leader: "White light."
*the door slides open on hydraulics, its around a foot of solid metal. behind it is a large underground space, with various vehicles, including a chimera APC.*

Leader: "Lyanna, you have a room upstairs, i can have one made up for... you. *looking at the very lyanna looking girl.* And i was told you'd want a workshop space my lord?"

Tyren: "It will suffice, i am sure."

"Should be enough time"

Warsmith: I suppose they do

Lyanna: thankyou.

Laurence: "Good." *he leaves the shop*

Chaptermaster: "Must we bandy words to no end?"

Leader: *looks at the other operatives with her* "Come on, debrief. Jonan, escort the lord astartes, i'll take Lyanna and the girl upstairs"

*doesn't stop him*

Warsmith: as impatient as other khornates I see... at least the world eaters have implants as an excuse.

Lyanna: see you later, tyren

Chaptermaster: "Care to mock us more? Or shall we talk war?"

Tyren: "Indeed." *wanders off after jonan.*

Warsmith: relax, khornate. You'll get your slaughter.

*lyanna follws her 'guide'*

Chaptermaster: "I look forwards to it."

*she's guided to a well apointed room, double bed, en suite bathroom.*
Leader: "You've basically got the run of the place, you past the kitchen on the way up. Theres a gym if you want." *she half laughs* "Laurence must have a soft spot for you."

"Do you know the planet of Bladen, within this sector, chapter master?"

Lyanna: thanks.

chaptermaster: "I am aware of it."

Leader: "I'll let you settle in." *she buggers orf*

"Well, we're going to make an example of it. and by we, I mean you."

*well now what*

Chaptermaster: "The streets will run red."

*Well, what lyanna gon do?*

Warsmith: of course.

*lie down*

Chaptermaster: "Is there any target you wish preserved? Or do you merely seek a bloodbath."

*Well. The bed is rather nice. Lil Lyanna is also escorted to a room, little less well apointed, double bed as opposed to a king, en suite only has a shower, no fancy Jacuzzi bath, and there is no artwork on the walls.*

"For now, they all die."

she thanks her guide and goes to rest

Chaptermaster: "We can accomplish that." *he laughs, starting as a deep chuckle, and ending as a howl, head thrown back.* "Oh yes, we can do it." *the men behind him roar their approval of the coming storm.*

*timeskip to the following morning?*

"Be warned. Their defences are strong."

Chaptermaster: "We will tear them down, brick by brick."

*Is le mornin, lyanna can hear a commotion in the kitchen*

Warsmith: good. I'll be watching.

*she's still asleep, it's the girl who goes to investigate*

Chaptermaster: "Enjoy the show." *he turns*

*in the kitchen, six of laurences operatives, dressed as she saw them yesterday are milling about, fully equipped, weapons slung, grabbing food, checking gear, and reading dataslates.*

Warsmith: oh I will....

the girl rubs her eyes, yawning as she enters

Marshal Guderian: You're far too compassionate, general.

Marshal: I doubt that. I've met the iron hands.

Marshal: then what are they?

Marshal: they're still men, they've just been upgraded.

Marshal: how literal do you believe that is?

Marshal: maybe.
