| /Meanwhile, many miles away. Gideon has come across an Indiaman(Trade ship) And has ordered his crew to prepare for combat\
*To his second* “So, we’re agreed then...Piracy is out future”
Second: “Aye sir. We’ll keep the flag and uniforms, we’ll keep our regulations. But everything is a target, and the world will pay until our home is free. Just as you told the crew”
Gideon: *Nods And sighs* “That’s what worries me, I’ve lead you for 5 years. Fighting the Elves at every opportunity, under the belief that we could do this without resorting to piracy”
Second: “Gideon. You’re a strong man, but you have much to learn. Think back to the campaign, when the command staff fell, who was it that took command and saved the army?”
Gideon: “I did”
Second: “Who gave the command to sack that human citadel so we could survive the winter?”
Gideon: “me”
Second: “Exactly. Who rallied the men when we were sent into the mines?”
Gideon: “What are you getting at?”
Second: “When you set your mind to something, you become unstoppable. Everything in your way is swept aside or destroyed. But ever since the Tiefling(Not Khalista) dumped you, all you’ve done is try to get your cock wet! Look at what you did that Jenny girl, she nearly shot you after you blindly chased her”
Gideon: “......”
Second: “Stop thinking with your cock, and use that head of yours. You are a better man than this! There’s an independent trader 700 metres away, his hold is full of spices and trading goods. What are your orders sir?”
*Gideon pauses for a moment, thinking to himself. Judging his recent actions* “I’ve been an idiot...I’ve drunk myself silly every night since then. I’ve tried to bed every woman I’ve found in a drunken tirade and you’ve all suffered for it. Take my ration of rum for the rest of the year, you’ve definitely earned it” *Gideon straightens up, and draws a sword* “RAISE THE COLOURS! PREPARE FOR COMBAT! WE’RE TAKING THAT SHIP AND ALL WHO DARE COME CLOSE”
*A roar of approval erupts from the crew as they fulfill their orders, the Huntress’ flag being raised so that all will know to fear the skeletal huntress and her crew*

| *The Huntress surges forward, and fires on the Indiaman. The bow chasers all miss the target, but that doesn’t matter. At 100 metres the Indiaman can’t escape and she soon lowers her flag in surrender. A minute later and Gideon’s men have boarded it, rounded up the crew, and began carting literal tons of cargo* | |

| With a sickening crash the mast of the elven ship was shattered, cannonball ripping the wood asunder. Splinters rained down on the surprised and terrified crew, before the mast came crashing down into the sea. The crew quickly Dashed to the weapons, manning the cannons and preparing their magics, but it was clear this would be useless. The fog the ship was drenched in was too thick. They were so blinded, they had not even seen a flash to indicate cannonfire, or the direction the cannonball had come from. The silence was eerie, with each man’s heart pounding hard in his chest. Moments later, this was shattered. Suddenly, seemingly from nowhere, A gigantic form smashed into the ship’s starboard hull, sending splinters flying as the outer hull was shattered. While the crew were still reeling, two large objects smashed down onto the deck, crushing several of the crew underneath. It became quickly obvious to the survivors what the objects were. Ramps. Within moments, warriors were flooding down the ramps, their forms rotted and skeletal, clad in thick, lamellar plate armour, of a design the defenders were unfamiliar with, wielding curved swords, long bladed spears and pistols. At their head, a towering figure, a thick, knotted beard clinging to his decrepit and pale skin, patches of bare bone clearly visible across his face. He wielded a pair of short swords, hacking his way through the terrified defenders with ease, using one to parry and bash weapons aside, while the other came in close and finished his victims in a single strike. No one who stood before him stood a chance, and even those who avoided him were doomed, as he seemed wreathed in an aura of purple, swirling horror. Twas as if mere proximity to this monster of a man drained the life force of his victims, sapping their strength until they simply fell dead, weak and frail, as if starved to death in mere moments, their corpses malnourished and hollow. It did not take long for the crew to be slain to a man, the ship now carrying naught but the dead, be they fallen or standing. The leader of these undead creatures, a stern look upon his face, approached the corpse of the captain, standing over the dead elf as he reached into his pocket. Moments later his hand emerged, clutching a black obsidian stone in his hand. He held it over the corpse, muttering to himself as he did so, words so dark and ancient they cannot be repeated. With a swirling of blue energy, the very soul of the dead elf could be seen, being pulled from his mortal form, the strands that bind it to his body severed one by one, before the spirit was entirely consumed into the stone. The undead creature held the stone close to his face, closing his eyes, as if concentrating, straining to hear something as the whispers of the dead man’s thoughts echoed through his ears. A few moments later, a look of anger upon his face, he crushed the stone in his fist, shattering it into a thousand pieces, a quiet scream emanating out from its remains as the soul within was destroyed forever. Turning to the warrior beside him, the undead creature finally spoke. “The ring is not here. Send word to the Naga. Have her burn Fort Haven to the ground, and find that ring. Our target runs the fighting pits there.” The warrior saluted his captain and marched back to the ship with haste. The undead captain, pure contempt on his face, turned back to the rest of his men. “BURN THIS DAMNED SHIP TO ASHES!” | |

—
*Gideon finds the manifest and directs everyone, after about 20 minutes they’ve stored a good 3 tonnes of cargo. Most of it being spices and shiny things. Having taken all of the loot, Gideon orders for the Huntress to make way, leaving the Indiaman with nothing but men and whatever they were wearing* | |

| *Daertoc knows who the galley is manned by, he learned such extremely fast. A dwarf, the only one of his kind, and the direct archetype of his species, short, stocky, with generally good humour. A trait common among the men of the galley. Who can blame them, since everyone knows to befriend the cooks. Alongside him, is a gigantic man with coal black skin, lending a slightly unsettling feeling to his bright white smile. Third in the galley crew, is a human, fairly standard among the crew, dark hair, quite tall, but not towering, well muscled, with his hair tied in a short ponytail. It is becoming rather clear khalista has a type.* | |

| *He sizes the trio up as he approaches, and he concludes that the black man would be the best to spar with. Both are tall and of a similar build, though the elf is more for archery than raw hitting power. He would make a fitting opponent, the other two he would do well to fight armed.*
