Also, that gunblade would be useless in battle... The first sword strike would most likely wreck the mechanism with the force of impact, if not outright destroy it *and* break the blade. Not to mention how unwieldy the sword would be in a fight and how hard it would be to aim the gun with a lump of steel fixed to it. 
A vambrace with a small gun built into it would be much more useful

Also, you might as well just kill her. Thats how this is gonna end anyway, isnt it?

OOC: Well it was an experiment. The logic is meant to be flawed as it was originally just an idea he had.
This is the first time it has ever been used.
The idea was to fire it before melee begins in order to gain an advantage.
It also comes off, the only permanent part is the firing mechanism.
Also just kill my guy, he's just a failed attempt by me for an amusing character.
