Raeven: "I'm surprised. I've been gone to the chapter for almost a century now."

Guilliman: for all intensive purposes, I am the ruler of mankind.

Noctis: He was one of the astartes on the terran crusade, escorting the primarch to terra. He was one of the firedrake veterans I beleive he said. Was nearly killed in the battle for luna, hence his entombment.

Amonet: "What i am meaning is, how many are they, and how many are you."


Raeven: "A firedrake... that would explain his knowledge of me. Perhaps he fought at badab."

There was near darkness is the small auxiliary hanger he had been alloted as "his living space."
Tools were brought, a small cot and blanket.
Many saw that as too much of a luxury.

A radio in the corner had been blasting gothic hymns at full volume, something set up by one of the more pious of the crew to "Neutralise the xenos taint."
Ar'Kais did not care, the hymns were drowned out by his 'heretical' craft.

He had been using his eyepiece as a holo-projector, currently showing the ripped schematics of an XV9 Hazard suit.
The commander was required to jury-rig a recharge port in the first place, not an easy feat.
Nor was the re-design of a pair of weapons systems.

"M'yen, systems active."

Red eyes pierced the darkness, the hum of the power generator slowly breathing life to mechanical limbs.
Ar'Kais had been busy in his seclusion.
Wiring, welding designing and then finally painting his suit.
The renegade ace pilot was ready to let his abilities be reckoned.

Guilliman: The population of the imperium is beyond counting. Trillions of systems, each with several planets inhabited by billions of people. Almost all the known galaxy is ours.

Noctis: maybe, he hasn't said.

Amonet: "I see... it seems you have taken our mantle."

Raeven: "I will have to talk to him."

Guilliman: quite.

Noctis nods.

*While guilliman and amonet talk, Jax has gone over to logen and the other salamanders, and is quietly talking to them, knelt by their fallen brother. Serah has knelt down with her bolter and sword laid out in front of her, hands held together*

Raeven: "This is all rather strange. Guilliman returned, a new army pulled from seemingly nowhere."

Amonet: *he clicks his fingers against his face again* "Rather impossible for us to regain it, i would say. In which case... I am willing to accept your agreement." *He offers his hand*

Chard also walks over to the salamanders.

Noctis: He's had this planned supposedly since before he fell.

Guilliman offers his own. specifically the power fist one.

*Amonet had offered his left hand, as is how you're supposed to shake hands ya scrub Guilliman a rude dude*

Raeven: "It would have been nice of him to inform someone of it."

Dev sgt: "He was a good brother."

*I know. Guilliman's shakin his hand. just with his power fist.*

Noctis: *shrugs* I beleive he was rather...incapacitated not long after.

Chard: He fought well.

Raeven: "Indeed. The traitor fulgrim."

Amonet: "Try not to break any more of my walls on the way out." *Said wall is repairing itself, the metal flowing back into the hole*

Jax: "I'm sorry i couldn't do more."

Dev sgt: "His injuries were too great."

Guilliman turns to walk away

Noctis: Unfortunately.

Chard puts a hand on the sergeant's shoulder.

Amonet: *turning away.* "Right then... " *he places the Resurrection orb on the floor* "Now we wait."

Raeven: "Indeed..."

Dev Sgt: "Logen." *he looks over, logen nods back, and together they take their fallen brother by the arms, and lift him up*

Noctis: better late than never I suppose.

Chard stands back

*MEANWHILE WITH DA INQUISITORZ*

Hera: "We just met Guilliman. Robute. Guilliman."

Raeven: "That remains entirely to be seen."

*the astartes carry their brother's body away, walking solemnly towards the hangar.*

Jax: *After they're out of earshot, turns to chard* "Is it bad i still have no idea what the procedure for enemy astartes corpses is?"

Charles: Do you want me to explain or do you need a minute?

Noctis: if you say so sir.

Chard: you think I do? *puffs*

Hera: "no.. explain."

Raeven: "He's leading an offensive when we're at out most vulnerable, if the crusade fails guilliman just squandered all of our remaining astartes."

Jax: "I was under the assumption."

Charles: really short version? Archmagos belisarius Cawl of mars built him that armour. Its life support systems woke him up and are keeping him alive despite the wounds and poison in him.

Noctis: we have more men now sir. A lot more.

Chard: I aint never buried an astartes. Don't fight alongside them as often as you'd think, and I let them handle their own dead. Simpler that way. Means I don't gotta ask questions they might not want to answer.

hera: "Well shit, how bout that."

Raeven: "Its still not a sure thing lieutenant."

Jax: "I was referring to these ones." *nods towards the dead iron warriors*

Charles: A primarch in the flesh. Second time I've seen that. First time it was a loyalist one.

Noctis: of course. But if we don't fight back now, we may be doomed. We're too hard pressed on every front to simply hold.

Chard: oh. Burn em, loot em, I don't care.

Jax: "Think i'll steer clear of chaos tainted. "loot"

Raeven: "When you counterattack you loose the defensive advantage. Takes a lot more men than holding."

Hera: "You've met a traitor primarch?"

Chard: fair point.

Noctis: and if we just defend, we lose.

Charles: met, no. Seen, yes.

The Gue'la seemed busy with something, of which he had no idea.
None had bothered to visit him besides the humans equivalent of earth caste and what he assumed was the equivalent of Ethereals, bothering him with their hymns and damnations.

He crossed the small hangar to his "personal quarters" a cot, blanket and crate he had used to stack his personal effects.
The former commander snatched a small box containing cylindrical objects. McIlwraith called them Iho sticks and they were quite addictive.
He had been very thankful to the Gue'vesa stationed outside his hangar who had managed to fetch him them.

As he used the welding torch to light the end of the stick he took his time reminiscing, remembering fondly his former compatriot.
Commissar McIlwraith, if only he had amasec to toast him with, a truly foul individual who embraced debauchery and vice so long as it kept the mens spirits up.
He hoped he made it off the ship safely.

With little else to do, he resigned to reporting that his suit was now fully operational, either they would put him to good use or they let him rebuild his suit to keep him busy, better to know now whether or not to blow his brains out than resign to a life of captivity with no combat.

Raeven: "We cannot retake cadia, Its an asteroid belt, and we cannot invade the eye, defence is all we have lieutenant."

Jax: "Had enough run ins with chaos for ten lifetimes thankyou."

Hera: "And lived to tell me about it, impressive."

Noctis: and what about the tyranids, sir? or the orks? or the eldar, tau, necrons and a dozen others?

Chard: its not over yet.

Charles: well, angron was rather distracted by grey knights at the time...*pauses* when we're back on the ship, we need to talk about something.

OOC: I am good.

The Tau wandered to the door of his containment, passing the unfortunate corpses of Iron Warrior boarders that sought to breach his containment door, their armour was all that was left of their charred remains.

The Xenos wandered through the halls, avoiding the corpses of Chaotic and Imperium warriors alike until he stumbled upon an officer.

Raeven: "You're aware of the irony of the last one for starters? The tau aren't even a threat, the eldar are impossible to find... Orks and tyranids, you make a good point, although attacking tyranids in the void is impossible so defence is the only option."

Jax: "It never is."

Hera: "Something we cant talk about here?"

OOC: No clue who Ar'Kais can stumble onto.

Noctis: impossible? surely you jest.

chard: aye.

Charles: private. Information that the others are not...cleared for.

Tempestor: *sees the tau* where the he were you?

"I was remaining in containment. I understand that was where I was required to be." The Tau removed the Iho stick from his lips, placing the hand on his hip.
He gestured with his other hand towards his hangar.

"There is a squad of Mad gue'la, incinerated in my hangar, none of them wished to negotiate, I wish to speak with the Inquisitor."

Hera: "oh, right, inquisitor stuff."

Jax: *Deep drag on his lho stick* "Been fighting chaos since... Too long."

Raeven: "If the eldar don't want to be found, they've all the webway to hide in."

OOC: and now to do the thing that makes everybody leave for some bastard reason...

The Shas'O sighed, walking past the tempestor, expecting him to follow.
"Honestly Gue'la, I did not think I was allowed to leave the hangar, before you accuse me of treason, what good would it serve to let you all die? Mad Gue'la would treat me worse than I am currently treated." The commander droned on, his face a carved marble sculpture of 'dis-satisified'.

"Do not mistake my statements for impudence, I understand my place upon this ship. Further more that I have not proven myself an asset but rest assured my suit is near completion, the currently it's... "Machine spirit" is running software diagnostics and shall be combat ready soon." The Tau moved gracefully but his vestments betrayed his grace, clad in a workmans blue overalls, they had not yet issued him with a uniform.
His former officers garb was beyond salvageable.

"It is simply that I miss a few comforts I am not afforded. The Iho sticks are a kindness I am eternally grateful for, but I miss things such as heating... as well as what you humans call Amasec."

Noctis: I mean the tyranids.

ooc to clarify shas, the fight was not on charles' ship. at all.

OOC: I am good of course! If that is the case disregard the Iron Warriors or any mention of it, simply that he believed he was not meant to leave the hangar.

The Taus rantings echoed down the halls for all to hear, his heavily accented Gothic was very distinctive, hard to miss.
"But if I am required to prove myself, I would have words with those who are in charge of shock tactics." His hooves stomped through the metal halls as they swiftly cantered in search of someone of rank.

"As much as I would be elated to serve among the Gue'ron'sha... Apologies, your "As-tar-tees." I believe I would be better served among your Gue- Guardsman." The words came from his with a degree of unfamiliarity, leaving an awkward feeling in his mouth.

"Drop troops. Perhaps from your 'Vehn-det-dahs." I need not command them, but I believe my suit is small enough to bypass many anti-air defence systems if required, I would clear the way for them easily enough and provide close fire support, I specialise in rather close quarters combat."

Tempestor: Did you miss the ship being under fire or something? The inquisitor's not on the ship.

Jax: "Retirement is for cowards in our great imperium."

Hera: "Lets get moving then."

Raeven: "Even so. Intercepting them is hard enough, and void battles against bioships are... You've never fought tyranids have you lieutenant?"

The Shas'O turned to give the Tempestor a withering look.
"As I said. I believed I was to remain in the hangar, if it puts your worries at rest I was attempting to finish my suit to return to the fray." The Shas'O continued to canter through the halls.

"Then who is the next in command on the ship?"

Chard: are you kidding? You do remember old man yarrick retired right? Hell, that was before he was famous.

Charles nods. "Dropship or teleport?"

Noctis: I've fought them once. Lord guilliman lead us in a crushing victory against a tendril near octarius, smashed the entire fleet in a single engagement.

Tempestor: that would be chard, but he's not here either, so that leaves the helmswoman. She's rather busy helping evacuate survivors from the emnity.

The Shas'O sighed with a irritated tone.
"Very well. Could you let anyone, whoever is available, that I wish to speak to whoever would be my superior." With a resigned expression the Tau stalked down the hallway to his cold prison.

Tempestor: the battle's over now so the inquisitor will be back soon. What do you need him for?

"My suit is ready and my blade is his. I would wish to meet with the people I would call my comrades, discuss strategy... request certain effects." The Tau stopped, taking a moment to think.
"Perhaps handpick my task force, see what sort of equipment I could get for them."

Tempestor: just wait till they're back. Won't be long.
