Purely 40k stuff rp thing

They can see a bunch of broad, tall greenskins, wearing scraps of leather and crusty old metal plates for armour, the leader, carrying a imperial chainsword like it were a butter knife; is carrying a human prisoner by a broken arm, crushed in its grip.
They can also make out more prisoners, guarded by orks in a ceremonial armour, painted a dark green.

the group hear a sound, and a shroud of darkness literally descends upon the orks

"Is that us sir?"

"no... everyone be ready"
*the orks literally cannot see now, and they can't see the orks*

The human prisoners scream as they are butchered by the orks.

at which point the lead ork realises his arm is missing

"Wazzat!? Oo took ma arm!"

*his other arm comes off, sliced cleanly off. the same happens to sever other orks*

"Get the gitz owh did this!" It screams.

*he hears a whooping behind him*

The xeno turns around, growling.

just in time to see a hooked blade before it collides with his face at very high velocity

"WAAA-" splat.

*the other orks meet with a similar fate*

I guess they're all dead.

*the shadow lifts, showing nothing but carnage. also one human prisoner who isn't dead yet

A ork gets butchered, but the choppa goes flying.

the squad are still watching

The prisoner gets impailed by the choppa.

Maria:....sweet emperor...

"Who attacked them?"

Maria: I....don't know...what the hell was that?!

"Only one way to find out"

Anderson: *the sergeant, if you forgot* I'm going in

"What about us sir?"

Maria: stay with him, you too mercer. stay back, keep us covered incase it comes back.

"Yes sir"

they do so.
Maria: I don't like this.

"This wasn't done by anyone we know of"

the sergeant calls them over after a couple of minutes

They walk over, warily.

the bodies are butchered around them, the cuts incredibly clean

"...this... doesn't look normal... the wounds are almost perfectly cut... no ork nor human did this"

"exactly"

"So.... we're not alone?"

"Unfortunately"

He holds his rifle a little tighter.

"These were clean and fast. Damn things probably didn't know what hit em"

"You know what could have done this?"

"Not a clue"

seige battle
city with thick stone walls
the Defender: the ancient greeks, consisting of about two dozen javelin throwers, a dozen cavarly and three hundred armoured hoplites
the attacker: over 1500 roman soldiers of all kinds, with seige towers, battering rams and ladders
how do you think this will turn out?

Ooc: well... the Romans would win. But it would be a hard fought victory.

one thousand romans died in the process

Ooc: idiot Greeks using cavalry to defend.

OOC Should point out this was on rome total war
and I didn't have a choice. general bodyguard units are nearly always heavy cavalry

the battle was epic though. I knew the walls were lost from the beginning, no way I could keep the romans out of there. so I didn't even try, only stationing the javelin throwers on the walls to maybe pick off a few romans as they came. everyone else I stationed at my last line of defense, the central plaza. there I blocked off the two roads in with walls of hoplite phalanxes, using their sheildwalls and fifteen foot spears to become a near impassible force. it worked for a time. but fighting 1500 romans with 300 greeks is harder than fighting a million persians with 300 spartans

OOC it did. which left the roman army weak and easy to take down when i re-took the city
