A slightly smaller Mess

Emma: oh, hey boss

*logen's have small dragon wings sculpted on the sides*
Logen: "I'd expect nothing less, why kill the enemy when you can impress them?"

Akira: "Ah, just the person i was looking for."

Galen: I hear that.
Crach: that why you spend more time on your hair than your swordsmanship?
Galen: I could say the same about you and that beard.

Emma: oh? what's up?

Logen: *Doffs his helm, revealing his coal black skin and ember red eyes. His features, in contrast with galen's delicate facial structure, are blunt, and heavy. he has one brand peeking just above the neck seal of his armour, bold high gothic script.*

Akira: "I need to get you back into fighting trim. You'll be out of practice."

Galen: guessing you've had a lot of experience then.

Emma:..sure, sounds good. Honestly you aren't wrong.

Logen: "enough of it."

Akira: "we'll start off slow. If you weren't a... saint. I wouldn't let you near a floor for the next month, you'd be in bed."

Galen: I hear that.

Emma: Well...considering I died, I get that.

Logen: "Sanguinary guard, and then deathwatch... you've probably seen more."

*Black helmeted devastator sergeant walks over* "It'll be close, given our tendencies."

Akira: "I don't want you dying on us again."

Galen: Maybe. Every astartes has seen more than his fair share.

Emma: Should I get my sword?

Akira: "We're starting slow, you wont need it."

Logen: "Who gives a damn about fair shares? I'll take as much as i'm handed."

Devastator: "Amen to that."

Emma: alright. Lead the way.

Galen: Careful. Don't want to loose yourself to the bloodshed.

Logen: "We're made for war, angel. May as well enjoy your purpose eh? One more victory for emperor and imperium."

Devastator: "And then another."

Akira: *Leads her to one of the cargo bays, converted into a training area.*

Galen: Crach, how did that Vulfbad you mentioned fall?
Crach: got lost in the damn slaughter. Cared more about the killing, and his rewards for killing, than his damn duty to mankind. Blood god started ta' get into his head, made it a thousand times worse.
Galen: exactly. It's a fine line we walk, salamander.

Emma: so how do we start?

Logen: *raises one eyebrow* "We fight for the imperiums people, not to shed blood. So long as the emperor's citizens are in danger, i'll keep throwing myself into the fires, and be glad for more."

Akira: "A warm up, few laps around the track, some cardio exercises"

Galen: likewise. But just keep yourself on the right side of that line.
Crach: that from personal experience, prettyboy?
Galen: shut up.

Emma: alright. Lets do this.

Logen: "Come on, bit far there old wolf. Lets not bring up gene seed defects eh?"

*Queue training montage. After this they hit the weights, and finally, akira decides that a short sparing session to finish off cant hurt*

Crach: aye, fair enough.

Emma: *stretching a bit* Been a while since I worked out. Feels good.

Devastator: "Shaky grounds for an insult from you."

Akira: "right, you ready for a slow spar?"

Galen: It's fine, he don't mean nothing by it.

Emma: sure. Should I get my sword?

Akira: "Hand to hand for now. starting easy."

Devastator: *Shrugs*

Emma: alrighty. You'll probably kick my ass.

Galen: anyway, welcome to the ship fellas. You wanna meet the others, Bohemond and Astoran are probably sparring in the training room, and Appius will be in the armoury.

Akira: "Thats why we're starting slow."

Logen: "This upbeat gent is Vai'von, his squad brothers are Avisan and Rhoman. And the young lad is Mallus."

Emma: still kick my arse.

Galen: a pleasure.

Akira: "I'll be gentle."

Vai'von: *knods*

*the other two devastators nod, and mallus barely notices.*

Emma: alright, lets do this.

Galen: anyway, crach, you finish fixing my mask?
Crach: aye, hangon let me just get it.

Akira: *Begins with a nice slow, easy left hook*

*The sallies continue on with repairs*

As she'd expect emma dodges it fairly easily, ducking under it

Crach pulls out the sanguinary deathmask and hands it back to Galen
Galen: thanks

Akira: "alright, you're not a total post."

*Logen clocks it, smiles to himself, and continues fixing his helm's optics, his helm being mark four maximus pattern.*

Emma: I did fight my way out of commoragh remember. *chuckles* 

Galen dons the mask
Galen: very nice...just like new,

Akira: "You did die in between now and then. alright, faster." *She punches straight, then faints, and leg sweeps.*

Mallus: *Looks over. Never having seen a sanguinary guard before.*

Emma hops back, out of the leg's sweep

Galen looks back. spooky deathmask is spooky.

Mallus: *Nods at the blood angel. and galen feels something... off about him*

*Akira, getting a feel for emma's abilities, steps forwards, coming out of the leg sweep, and throws a strong backhand hammerfist.*

Galen: anyway, I'm going to make sure Bohemond and Asteron haven't killed eachother.

*this time the fist catches her, getting her on her right, where she's missing an eye. she stumbles back, grunting at the blow*

Akira: "Sorry, maybe that one was a bit fast."

Logen: "well, you two havent, so they'res hope for all of us."

Emma: no its fine...not used to this yet.

Crach laughs
Galen: yet *chuckles and leaves*

Akira: "I can probably get you an augmetic sorted."

*Worky worky on gear*

Emma: thanks. I tried healing it, but I think at least part would need to still be there.

*meanwhile, where hera is*

Akira: "Right..."

*Hera is sparing with jack, blades clashing in a blur of steel.*

Emma: yeah...they ripped the entire thing out in one go.

*hera,....suddenly gets faster*

*Jack keeps pace, it seems he was going slower for her.*

Jack: "Thats more like it hera!"

Emma: anyway...

*the speed increase continues. she even notices it*

*Jack begins to be pushed back across the cargo bay, resorting to drawing a knife in order to block some of the incoming strikes.*

Hera: "What... the?"

Akira: ""Grizzly... well, you're not our only cripple."

*from the corner of the room where jack and hera are*
"Meow"

Emma: guess not... bastard tore it out cause I wasn't reacting enough. shoved it in my mouth.

*Hera falters for just a moment to glance towards the sound, giving jack all the opening he needs to swat heras sword away, and drop her to the floor with an arm bar throw, landing astride her with a knife to her neck*

Akira: *her eyes widen* "Bloody hell... I'm no stranger to some torture, but that's just grusome."

*she sees a Gyrinx stood in the corner, watching, as it starts to slowly walk over to them*
"Meow"

Emma: that....isn't the worst of it by far... get me drunk sometime, I'll tell you what they did with the woman who raised me.

Jack: "What in the fuck."

Hera: "Ditto."

Akira: "Well you're among fucked up friends here. Everyone needs a drink to tell their tales, but you more than most."

"Meow" it walks over and rubs against hera's leg

Emma: yeah...thanks. *she smiles*

Hera: "Why is there a... weird cat."

Jack: "I...."

Akira: "You sure you're doing okay? You went though a hell of a lot."

Charles: *in the doorway* that's where she got to...
Gyrinx: Meow *rubs against leg, demanding cuddles*

Emma: As good as you can expect I guess....mighta broke down a bit when i went back to my old home. Got it all out there.

Hera: *has arms pinned to her sides by jack's legs.* "Hi Charles."

Akira: "I need to know if you'll be okay fighting them, I don't want you braking down in a firefight, or doing anything stupid for revenge."
