The drop pod you all reside in preps for launch.
A pilot looks through the door, checking you all have the gear on required to survive the drop.
When you all nod, he places a crate in the middle of the pod, containing all your gear - combat clothes, weapons, ammo - enough for 4 mags each, close combat weapons and all other gear you all have.
The dull atmosphere in the pod is only lightened by the small red light on the roof, blinking every few seconds, signalling it's not ready for drop.
Suddenly, speakers in the pod boom to life.

"All soldiers in pod Zeta-8, engage oxygen gear and strap in. Press button to your right when ready."

*presses the button, making sure he is securely in place.

*Straps self it*

OOC: Boarding pod 7, prepare to die, I mean launch

*does likewise*

*he takes a preliminary sip from his flask, straps himself in and presses the button*

The straps suddenly tighten, the doors closing with a bang.
"Good luck."
The light changes to a dull green, signalling launch.
"3...
2...
1...
Drop Imminent."
You all feel as if you are suddenly falling as the pod detaches, falling from the atmosphere down to the planet.
"ETA to planet surface - 12 seconds."
12 gruelling seconds go by, your stomachs feeling like jelly until you hit the surface with the power of a meteor, throwing you all around into the solid metal straps.
"Doors opening in 2 minutes. Gear up. Good luck, Squad 17."

"So, anyone nervous?" Orlok jokes.

*Grabs his shotgun, revolver and shockmaul along with his carpace and gears up*

*puts on gas mask, and straps on his backpack, checking the contents, he also makes sure that his belt has all his gear.

*unstraps and begins putting on his gear, making sure to grab ammunition and activate his rebreather*

The doors thud open, revealing a dusty setting with a ruined city directly ahead. Battered, wrecked tanks strew the area, with dead bodies of unfortunate citizens all over.

*My guy, equipping his shotgun, steps out of the pod*

*equips NVG and switches the safety to semi-auto before stepping out*

Quickly jogs over to cover by a ruined tank, hugging it while checking his surroundings

Chatter can be heard nearby, deep voices coming from within the ruins.

OOC update - rolling will be used in this thread, so when I switch to phone we will be unable to continue as I can't roll on phone.

Looks down the enhanced scope of his pistol, trying to make out a target.

*Gets into some cover close to where the chatter is coming from with his drum mag shot gun ready*

Gestures to the arbite not to shoot.

*quickly moves over to a tank opposite nerus' guy*

*He knods, but still has it ready*

A small gang of men walk past, clad in what looks like battered, looted guardsman armour. One drags a woman behind him. She looks like she is nearly dead - bloody clothes, bruised all over.
"So, is this where you said something 'fell from the sky'?
"Y-yes! please! Believe me" the woman screams.
"You must be so high... I liked you. You were cute." One says as they pull out a pistol. She screams as the trigger is pulled, blowing a hole in her face.
They all laugh as they throw her corpse onto a pile of other bodies, then turn and see the drop pod.
"Holy.. shit.. she wasn't lying?"
"Get to cover! Someone must be here! HIDE!"
They all run behind some of the ruins, obscuring themselves.

OOC: Going to wait for someone else to do something before I start glacking dicks

Going into his belt, the mercenay pulls out a smoke grenade, while also gesturing the arbite to move up, as he pops the pin and throws it into the open ground between them and the rebels
