A Rebirth

an observer scarab was watching the whole time....*dun dun duuun*

*Meanwhile, near a Brotherhood outpost, an alien ship drops out of a portal of some sort.*

the ships approach it, weapons armed and attempt to hail

*They receive a sort of general hail. At least they know the alien coms work.*

Brotherhood captain: onscreen.

*They see a reptilian figure eying them suspiciously.*

"Greetings....who are you?"

*It replies...but they can't understand it. It's possible the alien doesn't understand them either.*

"um...can you understand me? nod if you can"

*It doesn't nod.*

"well shit"

Bridge Officer: Sir, maybe we should call for specialists.

*Meanwhile, on the bridge of the alien ship.*

Captain Natran: Damn it, someone get the translation matrix working!! Now!!

"Do we even have specialists for this shit?"

Bridge Officer: Hell if I know. But we should at least report this.

"Make it so"

*He reports it. Meanwhile, on the alien ship.*

Technician: Try speaking with them now, sir.

Natran *to the Brotherhood vessels*: This is Captain Natran of the Tragadon Outer Colonies, to whom do I speak?

"This is captain waggoner of the brotherhood military"

Natran: Captain, allow me to apologize for violating your territory. We were brought here by a freak accident.

"No need, accidents happen. This is however, a remarkable occurrence"

Natran: Indeed. I believe this is my species first contact with an alien race.

"Then allow me to introduce you to the human race"

Natran: Indeed, and might I add, it is finally nice to meet a group that has the decency to ask questions before opening fire.

"You dont know the half of it. the only other species we've encountered is the orks. and they are openly hostile to everything, including eachother"

Natran: Doesn't sound like a species I would like to meet in the near future...Captain, is there a port some sort nearby? My crew and I need to determine what caused the accident that brought us here.

"there is. I can have you escorted there if you would like"

Natran: That would probably be best.

"Transmitting coordinates now"

*Natran glances at his helmsman for a moment.*

Natran: Coordinates received, we'll follow you.

*his ship leads the way*

*They eventually arrive at the port I guess?*

*The Tragadon ship docks with the Brotherhood port.*

they are greeted by armed guard, but they have their weapons lowered
Waggoner: sorry about this, just standard protocol, assume hostility. Just a precaution.

Natran: No need for apologies. I would have done the same.

oh note he's got black hair, not shaved in a while, and a scar down one side of his face

Natran: It may be best if you security detail kept civilians away from my ship. Until we know what brought us here, I'd rather reduce the likelihood of outside interference.

*Of note, Natran has sky-blue scales and his face is unmarred.*

"that is the plan"

Natran: You have my thanks. I will inform you if we discover anything.

he nods

*A few days later, Natran contacts Waggoner.*

++Natran: We have discovered why we were brought here. There was a malfunction with our jumpgate coils.++

++Natran: Yes, the method by which we accelerate ships to faster than the speed of light. The coils were damaged during the jump.++

++Natran: Unless you use a similar FTL technology, I doubt you would have.++

++Natran: Indeed....of course, this presents a new problem. Our choices now are to use slower than light travel to try and get home, or find a way to contact our superiors.++

++I may know of someone who can help you do the latter++
