Well, your explanation on how exactly they did leak in the Kingdom is incredibly flawed, but I will say okay and assume that it was planned and organised well.

But I'm afraid that your men should have been more, first rule of siege: always bring more men to battle than the opposing force. There are about 20 thousand men defending the capital, and that is fucking much. And this is only the city guard garrison, the armies are sent to the north to fight the Kingdom of Forgruïr.

Increase your amount of men if you want, within the borders of logic, of course.
