*The formation continues towards the Sororitas HQ.*

the craft seems to be escorting them

Aequitas: At least we have some air support. *They eventually close on the Sororitas HQ. The APCs being to set up a perimeter as the infantry disembark and the Jaegars move into position.*

OOC I have this idea, been thinking on it for the last... what? hour? half hour? basically I've been going through it over and over again in my head with the same idea repeatedly

OOC: And what is this idea, Fae?

OOC ok, quick strike by frigate with no warning on this frontline alone before pulling out
it's the same chapter as that "sneaky bastard" that you described him

the ship hovers overhead, scanning for hostiles

OOC: Ah....Hm...Okay, what would the purpose of the quick strike be though? The moment the Consortium sees it they'll shoot because it's not one of theirs. And they'll notice it's Nurglite, which is going to freak them out given they haven't seen heads or tails of Chaos in a LONG time. I'm just curious...trying to figure out what you're up to based on what I know...Damn it. You're worse then Gor....

IC:

*The Jaegars begin to advance as the infantry in the APCs begin to carefully bring up the rear while those that disembarked begin to set up a perimeter for dealing with stragglers. Aequitas' squad is still in the APC.*

Anna is loading her weapon

OOC might I add, the Dark Wolves aren't Nurglite, they're undivided and work in rapid strikes before disappearing
besides, the strike will only be 2-3 minutes before pulling away
that's how fast it'll be

(then again... there's the crazy idea the Lords will devise later on...)

OOC: Oh. The Dark Wolves. My bad. And of course they're devising a crazy plan....

IC: *Aequitas' is loaded and ready.*

she looks at him, a little nervously

Aequitas: I'll help you keep it, so don't worry.

she offers him her fist to bump

*He just looks at her. He clearly doesn't know what it is.*

she sighs at that and lowers her arm

OOC alright here goes

IC from the warp a Chaos Frigate spits out in low orbit, on target with transponders off. holding orbit above the frontline where the scene is set drop pods launch down behind their line, a flurry of them. when they land and open, their purpose is revealed:

Deathstorm Drop Pods, outfitted with Whirlwind Launchers
each and every pod opens fire behind the line as soon as they open until they're spent and sit lifeless. then the frigate turns its broadside to the planet and opens fire on the line

it was not new to the crew of the frigate, they've done these runs before. the entire broadside lights up with their cannons into the frontline below it...
2 minutes... 2 minutes of raining hell persisted, blowing holes from the ground and outright wrecking many vehicles, not too mention the bodies blown apart from munitions flying in from orbit

with the frigate overstaying its welcome the warp rips open and pulls the frigate away, leaving its work behind

*They are now closer to the Sororitas HQ.*

*This caused no small amount of trouble for either sides, as it ruined several Guard positions and several Consortium assault groups.*

her breathing grows heavier

*Several Sororitas open fire on the Consortium troops.*

*Meanwhile, Templum veterans are preparing to assault an Imperial Guard strong point.*

anna ducks and covers while the gunships targeting systems look for a weak spot in sororitas defenses

they are met with disciplined volleys of lasgun fire from the defenders

*The Consortium vehicles hold back as the Jaegars pound the Sororitas that revealed themselves, absolutely pulverizing them.*

*Which doesn't do much to the heavy vehicles or the powered armor as the Templun troopers carefully approach the defensive position from multiple angles.*

OOC: I'm eating dinner so I can't reply on steam

the prototype exploits the weakness and launches the exo suit at the sororitas lines

they hold their ground as heavy weapon teams begin setting up

Aequitas: What was....?

*The APCs stop moving as the Jaegars continue to advance, pounding the Sororitas and slaughtering them.*

*Heavy artillery fire and aerial attacks begin to pound them, forcing them to delay setting up their weapons.*

the pod begins providing fire support as the exo shoots and punches its way through the sisters lines, heading closer to their commander's location

they are clearly in disarray

*The Jaegers charge forward, crushing the Sisters under their treads.*

*The Imperial Guard commander of these defenders receives a request for his surrender, with a of promise food, water, and medical supplies and punishment for the local authorities.*

Anna fires off a shot, managing to take the head of a multi melta weilding celestian before she can fire on one of the jaegers

for a while there is no reply

*Upon seeing the meltas, the Jaegars begin to reverse to allow the APCs to catch up.*

Aequitas: Um...Nice shot.

*The Templum soldiers cautiously advance forward, heavy weapons trained forward and ready to unleash a hail of suppressive fire.*

the exo is continuing to cause havoc behind the sororitas lines
they are in disarray

the surrender us accepted

*The APCs link up with the Jaegars and continue to advance.*

*The Templum troops approach cautiously, intent on disarming the Guardsmen.*

the pod also advances, laying down fire support

they drop their weapons

*The vehicles continue to advance as far into the Sororitas HQ as they can.*

*The Templum soldiers collect and pile them as rear echelon troops arrive to ferry the Guardsmen to behind the lines and relief supplies are brought up for the civilians.*

there is a decent path cleared for them, but still meet heavy resistance. anna focuses on those she thinks are gonna fire at the APC or aequitas specifically

not sure what to say here

*Aequitas occasionally takes potshots at them as well, but it's hard to hit anything at the ranges their firing from given that they're in a moving APC.....Anna's a VERY good shot then.*

Aequitas: Where did you learn to shoot like that?

the forces do find signs of combat ahead of them at some outposts, most of them obliterated and dead (concerning the IG)

Aequitas: Oh....*They eventually stop moving.*

Sergeant: Alright people, get out there. Vehicles can't go into the building without bringing it down. The drivers say there are only a few fanatics left so move fast and don't give them a second to react.

he hears a familiar voice in his comms

the surrender is accepted

*Which startles him to say the least.*

Aequitas: Um...Yeah. What-what are you doing here?

Tex: tactical support for the pilot. Torrel created this so I'm helping field test it.

the guards throw down their weapons

++Aequitas: He...Oh. Okay....So, I'm guessing it's working properly?++

*They are escorted out as the an officer and several veteran squads make their way to the governor.*

*The officer arrives....with a pare of cuffs.*

she turns towards him

++Aequitas: Oh. Her name is Anna....Oh...I...I don't think I know her last name. Well, that's embarrassing.++
