The longships beach in the port and the thengul raiders pour out of them Grouos moving to engage in the thick of combat and several lighting fires

If you follow that link you will find what is quite possibly the most beautiful paint job I have ever seen in 40k.

Joachim: We need to break them before the Thengul get any further! Find the the commander. The slaves will crumble without him!

The raiders start pushing back the lines near their beached their ships are, setting up a temporary raid camp and defenses

Mako: on it! *she smashes a slave soldier's skull in with her kanabo*

*The expedition continues to hammer the flank of the slave forces, cutting through them in the way only disciplined men can.*

The thengul cut their way threw the slave forces and engage the citys defenders with savage glee tho they never persue past a (insert about 8 blocks in or similar as i dont know the exact soze of the town)

mugen talks it ove with his fellow thanes and agrees to go, mugin takse with him a wolf
pack of 15 mem and rides to the Black mountain clanns

*At the gates to the mountains, they are met by a detachment of the High King's best men who escort them to the capital. Once there, they find Alaric waiting for them.*

Alaric *rather jovial*: Mugin, my old friend, I see that time has been kind to you!

Mugin: as to you your highness (mugin gives a bow of respect)

mako and kenshin plunge into the melee, felling thengul left and right

Alaric: Bah! Enough with the formality! You're among friends here. Come inside. You must be starved and cold after the ride here.

*The Brigardi break through the Kelthrovi lines and begin to move around the rear of the raiders. When the Voldamians have the raider's full attention. They strike, cutting into the sides and rear of the Thengul formation.*

A painted man breakes into his rage and charges Mako and kenshin his great maul swinging
The attackers of the thengul flanks are met with improvised berricades and spear walls it appears that the thengul are digging in arround the area they claimed

the minpei follow suit, chargin in unison
kenshin keeps the man at distance with his naginata while mako swings for the man's leg with her iron kanabo

even in a rage the painted man has enough common sense to defend himself of only by jumping as he swings his hammer

*They are lead to the dinning hall, where they see a grand feast before them.*

Alaric: Come. Sit, eat, drink. You are guests in my home and I will not let it be said you are ill treated.

The painted man grabs the bat breaking his hand but blocking the attack and holding mako still while he swings at her
a volly of thrown spears and javalins rain down on the attacking shoganets and brigardi as the thengul hold their berricades

In a lightning flash she pulls out her katana and parries the attack. Kenshin stabs him in the back with his katana

As if the wound dident affect him he throws mako away (as in grabe and shoved) and turns on kenshin ripping the blade out of him as he turns to strike kenshin

The berserker manges to get a blow on her shoulder before bleeding out and slumping dead to the ground muscles still teitching from the rage other warriors have pulled back to their berricades throwing javalins and flame pots to cover their withdrawl

mugin: the forest folk have decided to invade to reclaim old lands they claim to have a right to, the old badger of the north Jarl olaf leads the warband to stop em in their tracks.
(olafs nickname is for 3 reasons 1 hes in his late 50s 2 he fights like a cornnerd honey badger 3 his clan are the badgers)

Alaric *sighs*: Yes....and that is why I needed to talk to you in person. Let me guess, Albrecht sent out emissaries offering gold and resources for the land, the Jarls said no, so my forest dwelling kin marched out for war. Of course, it's just like Albrecht to do that....Mugin, I asked you here so I could warn you. You're facing far more then an invasion. You're facing what amounts to a near total exodus. This isn't just a war for lands, it's a war for survival. And you're people...They're just in Albrecht's way. He...spoke to me about this last time he met. He said that by his reckoning, the coming winter is going to be the worst the continent has seen in hundreds, perhaps thousands, of years. The northern most parts will become completely uninhabitable, and we both know winter does not discriminate. It will claim both Thengul and Brigardi alike.

Mugin:....then why not explain it like sensible people my people has always aided when needed.

Alaric: Would you have listened if he did? Would you have believed that a cataclysmic winter was coming and that your people in the north would have to flee their homes for warmer lands till the winter passed? We both know how stubborn both our people's can be, old friend...And frankly, knowing Albrecht, he had no intention of telling you. I can't flaunt his devotion to our people, I truly can't but...to be driven to war with hardly any effort at diplomacy...That's not the Kaiser I know. No, a it's man who is now desperately trying to save what is left of his people. He doesn't care who or what gets in his way, so long as his people survive. Besides, whatever aid you could have rendered would have been useless. Albrecht is expecting ice and snow so deep and thick you entomb a mammoth. Men have no hope of surviving a frozen hell like that.

Mugin: and so he decides to invade his southern neighbor with no explanation other then they want lands they los generations ago..... so what is your plan old friend?

Kenshin: gah! What was that?!

Once behind the berricades the thengul hunker down

Alaric: My plan...My plan is to follow. We people of the mountains have always been close to our Thengul kin, but we are Brigardi at heart and in spirit. I have little choice but to follow Albrecht. Mugin, I called you here to give you a chance. A chance to run before it's to late. Take your clan and go south, away from the conflict. Albrecht isn't going to let anyone or anything stop him, and he'll do whatever he has to ensure our people's survival. I...I wish it hadn't come to this, but if his predictions are true..we have little choice.
