You think thats annoying? try playing endless space in a non-warlike fashion. I tried to be best buds with everyone, and i still ended up being at all out war with everyone just because i have a higher score....

you think that's bad? try fighting a bunch of tough enemies while 2 fuckers in the back keep laying into you crossbows while said crossbows take off like 80% health in one shot and the melee guys do even more damage to you and the crossbow guys have too much health for you to kill them before the melee guys get to you

Well, you see, its like this: When you play Valkyria chronicles normally, the imperial weapons can easily pwn your guys at the beginning of the war. But when you play the "behind her blue flames" DLC, in which you are with the imperials in the same period, your weapons are as worthless as sticks.
NPCs almost always get huge buffs to compensate for their immense unintelligence... i mean seriously.... they are not much more sophisticated than the first DOOM or wolfenstein enemies... pathfinding tries to get them a line of fire/melee range, then attack... if the same gear gave them the same stats as it would for you, it would be like fighting...something...really dumb...

Subject: Re: The Barbed Hook 2016-02-26, 15:20
true doesn't help I'm on new game plus or on the 2nd highest difficulty but still the biggest bit of bullshit was that the guys with crossbows were always offscreen so while I can defend against them, I never knew when to do it and when was safe to attack

OOc. yeah, well, this is why i usually dont play on higher difficuilties against Ai.... it just gets ridiculously unfair and frustrating, and i would achieve nothing but getting pissed even if i succeed....
Hell, even on normal-ish difficulty level, AI often get a pantheon in Civ5 before it is even matemathically possible.... then what happens on the hardest?

OOC. i remember tales of an MMO game back at the dawn of online gaming where the devs wanted to make a very tough dungeon. so they buffed even the random mobs to boss level stats to the point where they could on-hit anyone. the only way to beat the dungeon was to glitch through walls and kill the boss from outside the map

OOC. meanwhile, in hungary.... A mayor in a city died so now they have to hold elections again to decide his successor. the government party and the biggest opposition party are practically tied. So of course both sides keep throwing shit at each other... and one side held a free festival with a big-ass gulash cannon, the other side literally sent you cash if you voted for them.... Honestly, our politics and the state of the country is so tragicomedic that we could make an award winning play out of it....
On another note. RWBY got really dark, really quickly in volume 3....
Spoiler:
I mean season 1: Happy go lucky! season 2: oh, now we have villains and a plot. guess that was needed at some point. Season 3 beginning: the plot thickens.... Season 3 end: ......half the main cast is dead, beacon is practically destroyed...

OOC. hey gorath, you want unfair situation? I am currently in an elevator with 3 enemies. they have guns pointed at me. I am a one-shot kill. I am unarmed. I have about 1-2 seconds to disarm them, not get shot, and turn towards the elevator door, ready to kill the 2 guys with shotguns who are gonna make mincemeat out of me as soon as the doors open. Preferably not getting bashed by the previous 3 guys who might still be alive behind me.

OOC. finished the game since then. man, that level after you hotswapped into the core 2 times already took me ages...
On an unrelated note, what genius came up with the idea of making a 1.5 hour movie from a series by practically just editing parts of the episodes into one and then adding 30 secs of enormous postcredits cliffhanger to an adequately ended series?! This is not what you could call "okay"! This should not happen! Who authorized this?!
OOC. cant open it. ever since my Nod32 updated its virus definition database earlier today, even half of 9gag is flagged as a trojan and it wont let me see it.... i dont suppose you happen to know where to adjust these settings in it, do you?

Guns pounded. Shells fell. Dirt flew. All typical battlefield sights for Gehrman. He surveyed the carnage that was before him from his vantage point atop the battlements. The sons of Dorn were almost upon them now, weathering the storm of bolter rounds and artillery shells behind the heavy armour of their transports and thick protection of their boarding shields. Every minute they closed with the defense lines, slowly but steadily. At first glance it would seem that casualties were horrific on both sides, but Gehrman’s keen eye spied the truth. As bad as things were, casualties on both sides were within acceptable parameters, if still high enough to warrant concern. And his little scheme would help that a lot. The first trench line was preparing to fight in melee now, readying a fighting retreat to the second line of defense, as the fists got ever closer. Their bolters continued to flare constantly, inflicting horrific casualties upon the imperial army forces that fought beside the fists, rather than wasting the ammo against the shield walls of the phalanx warders that now approached. Gehrman watched as this unfolded below him. He wanted desperately to get stuck in, but he knew his place, and he knew the plan. He would be patient. He could wait. About twenty minutes later the first line fell back, having stalled the fists in melee for long enough, their bolters laying down a constant volley as they retreated. The fists took this chance to regroup, using the protection of the trenches to remain in cover for long enough to do so. It was at this moment Gehrman finally spied his prey. The centurion who lead this assault force, clad in tartaros pattern terminator armour, wielding a thunder hammer in one hand, a vigil pattern storm shield in the other. Gehrman prepared to activate his teleporter as he gave the order. Moments later basilisks opened fire on the trench-line that the loyalists had captured, pinning the fists in place with their punishing barrage. Knowing their armour could weather such punishment, the centurion and his terminator bodyguard vaulted from the trenches, attempting to reach the second trench-line and lift some of the pressure off of his brothers, allowing them to follow. Before he could reach them however, there was a flash of green, as Gehrman and his own bodyguard, clad in cataphractii armour, power fists and combi-plasmas in hand, materialised before them. The Ironclad Guard. Before the loyalists could react, the iron warriors fired, sending searing bolts of plasma forth at almost point blank range into their ranks. Were it not for their storm shields, they would have fallen right then and there, as it was only one fell to the barrage, but this momentary halt in the imperials’ advance combined with the element of surprise gave the iron warriors the time they needed to charge. The air sang with mighty clangs of metal on metal as power fists collided with shields, the relentless barrage of attacks putting the fists on the back foot. As the centurion looked around, he saw now that he was isolated from his bodyguard, as Gehrman himself strode towards him. Scowling and gritting his teeth, the imperial fist barreled forward, a cry of “For Terra!” on his lips. He swung his hammer in a great arc towards the iron warrior’s helm, attempting to cave his skull in, only to be caught off guard as his foe’s chainfist fingers intercepted the blow, grabbing a hold of the weapon’s shaft. Lifting his leg, he delivered a mighty kick to the imperial warrior’s chest, knocking him back as he gripped the hammer, ripping it from his grasp. Casting the hammer aside, Gehrman suddenly and without warning launched himself forward, a flurry of blows from his claw and fist raining down upon the centurion’s shield one after another. Again and again his blows fell, again and again they clanged against the storm shield, until finally, the fingers of his lightning claw, curled around the edge of the fist, before pulling it aside, the imperial fist’s stamina too drained from defending to struggle enough against this. With his foe exposed, in a lightning flash, Gehrman plunged the blade of his chainfist into the imperial’s chest, punching through the protection of his armour, as the whirring blades made short work of his insides. The imperial fell to the ground, gutted and dead. With his objective complete, Gehrman silently signaled the ironclad guard, and they once again teleported away, as the basilisk barrage finally ceased.
