*After they're both done, max finds akira on the bridge, looking out at the hive ship.* "Home sweet home."

"Home sweet home...I still need to replace it"

Akira: "Replace what?"

"The ship itself. Because we actually care about our dead we don't have the food to support the populace"

Akira: "What can we replace this thing with? and the hydroponics setup is going well."

"There's a planet, uninhabited, about 120 days at max speed. The atmosphere is good, lots of landmass"

OOC: The ships in space, i think you mean planet?

"Yeah, it's well. I think it was an old terraforming experiment. The atmosphere is incredibly Earth like, even the local fauna are somewhat recognisable"

Akira: "It could have been abandoned deliberately... we should check it out first."

"Exactly what I was thinking, though there's no point in doing anything if we can't get the ships engines working again"

"Yeah it is unfortunately"

Akira: "I don't see a solution, if im honest. The tech priests dont have what they need to fix it, last time we asked, and nuclear power and duct tape do not mix."

Hera: *Sighs* "Not entirely, but... I could have saved them. in hindsight, i could have positioned my men better, and not left them so exposed, against dark eldar thats a death sentence."

Hera: "They were... Tortured obviously... Flayed, cut to the bone, stabbed, missing eyes, tongues... teeth... fingernails gone... and, worse. I shot all six."

Charles: You saved them from their suffering.

Hera: "Suffering i could have prevented."

Charles: you couldn't have known how bad it would be. You did the best you could. That's all you could do.

Hera: "My best wasn't good enough, i should have done better."

Charles: And next time, you will

Hera: "That wont bring back six good men."

Charles: and if you hadn't got to them?

Hera: "They'd have died in agony. But they're still dead."

Charles: their suffering would have been greater and far longer without you.

Hera: "Charles..."

*There is a knock on the door*

Hera: "Nevermind."

Charles kisses her before going over and opening the door

*Mac is standing with mute outside the door, both in fatigues, not power armour.* "Sir." *Mac salutes.*

Charles: *nods in greeting* Mac. Mute. You need something?
