A slightly smaller Mess

*Robert's Ironclad paves the way forward, obliterating anything unfortunate enough to come under fire from his mass drivers*

the main gun fires at the hammer again, this time the green one again. the hammer finds itself steering directly towards the trader's ships head on, at ramming speed straight for the ironclad

charles helps carry the salamander

*The flagship suddenly shudders as Robert's mass drivers make contact. Tearing a massive gash in the starboard side and grazing the main 'gun'. Dealing enough damage to knock it out of commission for a few moments*

+Trader, adjust course, we do not have control.+

*The hammer's guns continue to pound the traitor ships, a barrage of macro cannon shells unparalleled by any two battleships*

*They make it to the necron lines quickly, where amonet himself is directing the defence*

*to his surprise the main gun is...fine. completely fine, despite this, not even damaged*

charles still carries the salamander

*the sergeant lays his brother down gently, and goes to the line.*

Mac: "My lord? Can you speak."

Devastator: "....Well.... en...ou....gh."

Mac: *he runs his fingers along under the marine's pauldron until his eyes light up, and he pulls a switch, removing it.* "We need this armour off."

charles aids him in removing the armour

R: +Of course you don't! Short range jump now!+
*The Ironclad surges into a small warp rupture just as the Hammer is moments from making contact*

+Just get those shields down. We'll do the rest+

the rest of the chaos fleet is converging upon the ironclad now, the dark mechanicum ships peppering it with boarding pods containing pissed off automata

*The Ironclad now reappears above the Flagship, and hammers away at its shield with both mass accelerators, macro cannons, and torpedos*

the shields hold. some kind of technology none of them are familiar with. meanwhile, the death squadron escorts focus fire on the ironclad.

*The shipmaster turns to his subordinates* "We have to get the ships locomotion back under control, focus fire upon the flagships armament"

*the devastator reaches up and grabs jax's hand.* "Give.... Them..... H...Ell." *With that, and a final breath, the salamander passes, on towards the emperor's side.*

Charles:....throne damn it.....

Jax: "That i will my lord... That i will." *he grabs his rifle and goes to the line.* "COME ON THEN YOU SONS OF WHORES!"

*Much to Death Squadrons chagrin, their weapons do precisely fuck all to the armour*

at which point the ironclad's starboard side takes a direct hit from a nova cannon blast

charles slowly stands, pausing before he follows

*Dispite the marines seeming death, charles swears he sees him nod, just the tiniest bit*

he gets to hera and the others, fast

*The ironclad is enveloped in the explosion as a star sized ball of plasma forms*

the flagship once more does its ship-switching act

*The star of plasma dissipates leaving nothing in its wake*

*The penal legionaries and astartes have plugged the gap in the necron lines that permitted their entry. the line itself is a concave shape, so as to allow as many guns firing down the twenty metre corridor, the combined necron force is holding there, with the monoliths too large to fire down it, they hover behind, sitting in the large chamber.*

Hera: "This is your last stand men! NO doubt! NO fear!"

*The moment the flagship shifts, the hammer swings around, apparently regaining control of her locomotion, and charging straight for the flagship's broadside*

the hammer has fallen into a trap. immediatly it is flanked by the two dark mechanicum ships, peppering it from nose to tail with automata boarding pods, as the full might of death squadron focusses on the gloriana class.

minutes pass. still the final iron warriors assault does not yet come. after a while one of the scions, to break the tension, starts to whistle. a few of the other scions join in, one by one. charles raises an eyebrow at this.

*one of the Dark Mechanicum ships suddenly takes a monstrous hit to its fusion core*

the mechanicum ships too are worryingly heavily shielded, although their technology is even more unknown than the flagship's

*They rolled ones on their invuln save*

*These things shoot fucking quickly. Even a termie with 2+/2++ goes down to lasguns. A shell punches through the armour plating and obliterates a slave deck*

*thats not how it works in fluff ya dingus :P especially void shields. they aint saves, they just eat up shots*

*the hammer fires all guns into the surrounding ships, blasting away with furious abandon. Most of her hull is abandoned, simply endless corridors of nothing some have been blocked off long ago, used as redundant spaced armour. but still these sections are populated by gun turrets, equipped mainly with assault cannon.*

Hakken: *Whispers* "Don't like this"

*They hear a howling call.*

the automata rampage through the insides of the hammer, specifically targeting things like weapons and such

chard:Should I stop them sir?
Charles: nono, indulge it. Anything that wastes time right now. Always time to cut cards with the devil.

*Has laurence run out of shit to kill yet?*

*the assault cannon at every corridor intersection begin to take a toll*

the automata are big and heavily armoured. assault cannons don't do as much as they'd hope.

*Laurence is continuing to rampage through the halls, moving slowly towards the necron bastion. Tearing limb from limb everything that he finds. His claws and teeth are slaked in blood, khorne himself has begun to take an interest*

*But with miles upon miles of corridors, and some sections barred off with hull thickness plating, its enough*

the iron warriors attack comes now....but almost the same moment it comes, there is a flash deep within the station, behind the lines of our intrepid defenders. at least 20 chaos terminators, fully armoured and heavily armed, teleport within the station, and open fire immediately. At their head, a towering, terminator armoured figure stands, chainfist in one hand, lightning claw in the other. his very presence strikes fear into the hearts of all who see him.
Gehrman: KILL THEM ALL MY BROTHERS! IN THE NAME OF OLYMPIA!!

*The room they find themselves in is dark, and barren, save for a single glowing crystal in its centre. in the darkness, twenty pairs of eyes gaze back at the terminators, The lychguard stand in formation, facing the terminators.* "You will not."

the terminators had started firing the moment they arrived

*the lychguard advance, moving quickly into melee. outnumbered, but not outmatched, half wielding shields, and half with warscythes, they hold their own against the onslaught*

Amonet: *he looks up, as if thinking.* "I must deal with interlopers. Hold here." *With that, he vanishes in a swirl of veridian energies, and half his immortals, along with two destroyers, about turn from the line, and march away towards the command centre.*

moving into melee was a mistake. the terminators quickly show their skill and strength, tearing through the lychguard that stand before them with fist, claw and maul. gehrman himself has already ripped apart five of them.

Charles:....that's bad

*amonet appears before gehrman, blocking a blow upon one of his lychguard.*

hera: "Probably."

gehrman does not say anything, relentlessly raining blow after blow down on the overlord, so fast from both directions and so relentlessly that amonet cannot find an opening to strike back

Charles sighs

*the overlord blocks every blow in silence, as his lychguard fall around him, he takes note.*

"Fall metal man. Fall like so many of your minions before you." his very voice seems to chill the air

"My minions have fallen? Perhaps they should rise." *He beats back gehrman for just a moment, long enough to slam the orb in his left hand into the ground. around him, the fallen lychguard rise again, fighting once more with ferocity. The heavy destroyers who left the line now also appear in the doorway, a single shot obliterates a terminator.*

the moment he slams it into the ground, gehrman is on him, faster than should be possible for someone that big. a moment later amonet's arm with the orb in has been severed entirely, that half of his torso taking heavy damage from the lord's chainfist.

*Amonet retaliates with his warscythe cutting a gash in gehrman's chestplate fighting just as adeptly with one arm.*

to his surprise no blood comes from this wound. only sparks. gehrman laughs as he grabs the end of the warscythe in his lightning claw....and crushes the blade, shattering it entirely.

*amonet teleports away, arriving back at the line.* "There is a rather angry human in my control room."

*They hear it again, the howling, much closer this time.*

Charles:...what the fuck happened to you? 
*gehrman is rather unstoppably rampaging through the lychguard and immortals alongside his terminators, completely unstoppable*
