Of Beasts and Knights

Zyleena: "Aw, thats no fun." *She scales the tower wall quickly, little bits of mortar dust floating down in her wake* "There is targets at the barracks cheri!" 

Vorstan: *looking off into the distance*

Thorgar: "He might be done, or she might have broken."

Catherine: then that's where we go.

Rosa:...I... *not sure what to say*

Morkar: we check?

Vorstan: "...Sorry." 

Zyleena: *she drops down, landing on her feet, claws digging into the floor* 

Thorgar: "Suppose."

Rosa:...for what?

catherine elects to take the stairs

Morkar: leads the way

Vorstan: "I didn't mean to say that."

*They find heigen, having just finished* 

Zyleena waits

Rosa:... but you did say it..*starts to smile a bit*

Morkar looks on silently

*she quickly makes her way over*

Vorstan: "I did...." *the helmets back on, so she can't see his expression*

Thorgar: "Are you ready yet priestess?"

Zyleena: *walks with her to the archery range*

Rosa:..you alright?

she's barely noticing them at this point

*they get there*

Vorstan: "Yes... Just a little angry."

*Thorgar puts a thumb and forefinger on her cheeks, and turns her head to look at him*

Zyleena: "So cheri, show me how to use a bow."

rosa puts a hand on his shoulder

she's trembling

Catherine starts to explain how to do it. i don't really know the specifics so use your imagination

Thorgar: "Repent."

Vorstan: "I cannot wait until they betray us."

Zyleena: *She adopts the pose catherine describes, but has her elbow bent a little too much*

she shakes her head, trembling

Rosa: it's alright, Vorstan

Catherine quickly adjusts this

*She looks out of the corner of her eye, the corner of her mouth twitching up a little at catherine willingly touching her*

Thorgar: "The magic comes next. Repent."

Vorstan: "Hmn."

Catherine ignores this as she finishes positioning her

she shakes her head again

Rosa: ....*isn't sure what to say*

*Thorgar thinks for a moment. then places his hand on her head, and begins to channel an incantation. Within a few moments... the priestess begins to see a vivid vision, of her deepest, most fond hope and desire.*

Zyleena: *she pulls the string back just a little more, then lets the arrow fly. it hits in the red band, not good, but not bad* "Hm."

Vorstan: "Sorry."

she starts to struggle

Catherine: not bad. Again.

Rosa: don't be.

*What does she see?*

Zyleena draws, her aim is a little low

Vorstan: "It does genuinely infuriate me."

*no idea. she's french so probably frogs legs and croissants or something*

Catherine: higher.

Rosa: I know.

*.....Really? C'mon dude.*

Zyleena: *She raises her arm, then lets the arrow fly. Striking just outside of the bullseye*

Vorstan: *looks over at the city.* "We should go back, before zyleena burns the city down."

*I don't bloody know what it would be XD*

Catherine: not bad.

Rosa: alright. *stands up*

*THINK BOY! What do you think a priestess's deepest darkest desire is?*

*Vorstan picks up his sword, laying on the grass next to the tree.* "This was nice..." *he sets off walking*

Zyleena: "Thankyou cheri."

*I don't know, I'm not a bloody french religious lady!*

Rosa: *picks up her things too* Yeah... it was.

Catherine just nods.

*You aint a warp spawned vampire inquisitor either. *wink* *

Vorstan: *he's walking at a decent speed, there's a good chance he never heard her...*

Zyleena: "How good are you?"

*Just think of something ya fairy, it's your illusion*

Rosa's keeping pace as best she can

Catherine: not brilliant. Competent.

*she sees a house... by a lake. A little jetty extends out into the crystal blue waters, where a small dinghy bobs, tied up. Her pain melts away... A small vegetable garden, with herbs along the borders abuts the house's log walls. A man is cutting wood outside.*

Vorstan: *he slides his sword into the sheath on his back as he walks*

Zyleena: "Show me."

she looks around, pausing with confusion

Rosa is still doing her best to keep up

Catherine takes her bow and fires, also getting a bullseye

*She's on a dirt path, wide enough for a horse to fit, on either side of her, the tall pine trees are close enough to reach out and touch. wildflowers peek from the undergrowth, signalling spring, the meadow the house is built in is awash with colour.*

Vorstan: "I can't see smoke. Good sign."

Zyleena: "oooh... You're good."

she closes her eyes and shakes her head

Rosa chuckles at that

Catherine: hm.

*she feels the cool breeze coming off the lake*

Vorstan: "Maybe zyleena hasn't gone mad after all."

Zyleena: "Show a little pride... you're exceptional."

she tries to turn away from all of this

Rosa: here's hoping.

Catherine: hardly.

*as she turns around. She sees thorgar stood behind her, Ash white hair, chainmail, his fur cloak around his shoulders despite the seeming spring heat. His sword is sheathed, and his shield on his back* "That could be yours."

Zyleena: "Thorgar saw fit to have me protect you. He sees something in you."

Vorstan: *he walks through the shattered remains of the gates. Corpses still litter the street*

"Get away from me"

Catherine: hm.

Rosa seems un-phased by this

*he doesn't move.* "I know that's what you've always wanted. I'll be more than able to give it to you."

Vorstan: "Such a waste."

Zyleena: "And i see your talents."

"Don't lie to me, chaos filth!"

Rosa: could be worse.

Catherine: hm.

"I am a man of my word. I intend to conquer Brettonia. I can give you a place like this."

Vorstan: "Out of a city, about ten people survived. Nine are whores."

Zyleena: *she gently pokes her with one claw tip* "You're quite the interesting one."

"You will die like all others before you."

Rosa: hm.

she pulls away from that

"I am not like the others before me. I am not consumed by battle lust, nor obsessed with sorcery and complex plans, hedonism, or the spread of pestilence."

*Zyleena laughs* "Come on cheri, don't you trust me?"

Vorstan: "The idiots refused thorgar's offer."

"Ha!"

Catherine: not particularly.

Rosa: hm.

*A flicker of annoyance comes across his face, and like that, the pain and violation comes flooding back*

Zyleena: "Whyever not dear catherine?"

Vorstan: "Slaughtered like cattle."

she clutches her head at that

she frowns at her

Rosa: yep.

*And like a switch, it floods away again, replaced by the gentle spring breeze.* "I do not enjoy torture Like some of my brethren. But it is a tool i will use. I far prefer words."

Zyleena: *Smiles back charmingly*

Vorstan: *he shakes his head, and picks his way through the corpses*

"You'll never turn me"

Catherine just sighs

Rosa just follows him around for now

Thorgar: "I will. It simply depends if you take the idealistic life you always wished for, or a short life of pain."

Zyleena: "What is it cheri?"

Vorstan: "I can sense the girl at least... She hasn't killed her."

"I choose pain. This is all a lie. You know nothing but lies. You will not deceive or mislead me."

Catherine: nothing.

Rosa: that's good then.

Thorgar: "I always give people a choice. You've made yours." *The pain floods back, and the illusion melts away...*

Zyleena: "Are you sure?"

Vorstan: "Indeed..."

*you know how she reacts to this :P*

Catherine: positive.

Rosa:...

*we may as well skip this. since we know how it's going to go down. She will simply be tortured until she breaks and does as she's asked.*

Zyleena: "Alright cheri..." *She draws back the string of her bow, and plants an arrow dead centre*

Vorstan: "I need a drink, i think."

*aye*

the girl just watches.

Rosa: I'll gladly join you in that.

Thorgar: *At the point of nearly exhausting the tortures he is willing to inflict, he sees her strength finally sap away entirely* "Renounce your gods."

Zyleena: "Cheri! You are a brilliant teacher to add to your talents."

Vorstan: "What do they do here?"

*at this point she basically can't speak*

*eyeroll*

Rosa: no idea.

Thorgar links his mind to hers. ~Think it, and i stop the pain. You need only think the words.~

Zyleena: "Come now catherine."

Vorstan: "No Aneh, for sure." (ah-neh)
